Limelight - 11 September 2011

We had a wonderful evening's music, with thirteen performances: two violinists, a clarinet and a saxophone, four pianists and five singers, including an operatic duet: thanks, Naomi & James, or should I say, Leonora and Florestan?! Also a good number of friendly audience members, ready and willing to play their important role. It was great to see familiar faces and meet new people too. The music performed was wide-ranging: folksong arrangements, baroque, classical, romantic, modern, film music and jazz! Anthony Milledge was a fine accompanist and contributed a delightful performance of Debussy's Minstrels. The Mayor of Ulverston, Councillor Pat Jones, dropped in to catch the end and is now a Limelight supporter!
